The unravelling of Trump, Netanyahu and Europe

Two years ago, this situation would have been considered impossible.  Trump looked triumphant after his victory at the hustings.  He had already mastered the art of not being tied up in knots by the Congress.  He chose the path of issuing executive orders – even if they seemed to go against conventions and legal rulings.

That was when he was convinced that tariffs and a halt to immigration would make the US bounce back to wealth once again.

To some extent, he succeeded beyond expectations.  He notched up collections of almost $300 billion in tariffs. Then the Supreme Court stepped in and ruled that the imposition of across-the-board tariffs was illegal without the consent of the Congress.  Over $100 bn had to be repaid as refunds (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwyewn5wexvo).

On the immigration front, he ran into large-scale disaffection as immigration agents took law into their own hands and killed innocent US citizens.  Once again, the courts stepped in, and Trump was compelled to rein in his dogs.

Twin deceptions

But the biggest blow came from Israel. Far from being an ally, Israel misled Trump (and the world).

Take the first instance of the big deception. Listen to Scott Ritter at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twOQnjgFHqM&t=2020s — timeline 3:10 to 3:40. He explains how the October 7 episode was used to create the grounds for a war with Iran.  How Israel invoked the Hannibal doctrine which allowed Israeli soldiers to kill their own people and then pin the blame on Hamas including concocted stories of rapes and beheading of babies.  This deception allowed Israel to massacre the Palestinians, indulge in genocide and even slaughter children.  The UN report accusing Israel of killing children is most disturbing (https://news.un.org/en/story/2026/06/1167790).

The second instance of deception took place was when Israel led Trump to believe that he could bring about a downfall of Iran as easily as he had done with Venezuela (https://asiaconverge.com/2026/01/is-venezuela-the-path-to-trumps-third-term/). The shameful and illegal detention of Nicolas Maduro, former president of Venezuela, was important for the US as it wanted to grab its oil reserves.  The US has very slim oil reserves, and its strategic oil reserves were also declining.

Instead, USA got sucked into a nine-month war during which its oil reserves got depleted, his missiles were rendered obsolete, its ammunition reserves running out, and many soldiers dying – the number cannot be verified as the wounded and the dead were sent to Germany (this is what was done during the Iraq war as well).

Israel’s deceptions were worsened by the lack of moral sense on the part of Trump.  He saw nothing wrong in killing sailors off the coast of Venezuela (https://asiaconverge.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/2026-01-12_countdown-to-a-crisis.pdf) when they were unarmed and drowning in water.

Trump did this again when his defence department refused to let US submarines rescue the Iranian sailors from the waters off the coast of Sri Lanka (a US submarine torpedoed an unarmed Iranian ship) causing it to sink.  That crime was compounded by the act of disdainfully ignoring drowning sailors in violation of UN rules (https://youtu.be/-6ZOUSz6QlU?si=T-jgrKiArOTRsKzG).

The same disdain was evident when the US allowed its planes to attack a school in Minab in Iran, slaughtering 168 school children and teachers.  It was not an accident because the planes came back for a ‘double tap’ to ensure that all the victims died (https://www.youtube.com/live/caxxml050Yk?si=9iUoiacdTE01aHS7).  According to UNICEF around 180 children were killed (https://www.unicef.org/eca/press-releases/brutality-war-measured-childrens-lives-hostilities-escalate-iran)

The same callousness was evident when Trump was allowed to speak at the UN Forum on September 22, 20o26 (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c52e0ywl9pr7o).  As John Laughland, academic, author, lecturer, and director of Forum for Democracy International points out at https://glenndiesen.substack.com/p/john-laughland-manufactured-heroes  (timeline 40:50 to 41:30), Trump actually advocated “ethnic cleansing, and gangsterism”, with no Western country standing up in protest. This is what shocked Jeffrey Sachs as well.

In fact, it was in keeping with what Laughland described as a harnessing of criminals to achieve the desired results (timeline 32:00 to 37:00) at the same URL given above. He bemoans the fact about Western nations (including Ukraine) not being able to overwhelm their criminal class in the same way as Russia could.

In some ways, the promotion of settlers in Israel to grab legally-held lands belonging to the Palestinians is an echo of what the US did when it grabbed the lands of the Red Indians (“the only good Injun is a dead one”) and the Mexicans.

Trump’s crassness was also evident when he actually called himself a “pirate” (https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/trump-us-navy-iranian-vessels-seizure-1794818). The description was apt, because he chose to plunder the oil in Venezuela. Even the receipts from the oil went to accounts which could be managed by Trump’s nominees and not by the US Treasury. It was plunder all the way, much in the same way as other countries in the West did, to become rich through gangsterism.

Moreover, there is increasing disenchantment among global investors to invest in the US Treasury bill.

The utter debasement of human values was visible also when Trump sought to ‘sanction’ even judges that had ruled against Israel (for the genocide, the massacre of children and the ethnic cleansing), and against his policies (https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/10/10/why-is-the-us-sanctioning-the-international-criminal-court and https://asiaconverge.com/2026/03/has-the-un-become-irrelevant-part-i/).  Justice had ceased to matter any longer.

Effectively, every gambit that Trump used to cover himself with victory and with the reputation of being a peace maker finally got back to him with a vengeance.  The result was a weakened US, soaring diesel prices, and an almost bankrupt USA with a debt burden of over $40 trillion) and a fiscal deficit of almost $2 trillion for this year (https://fiscaldata.treasury.gov/americas-finance-guide/national-deficit/).

Trump blinks

Finally, Trump blinked again and again.  In some ways he was TACO once again (TACO is an acronym for Trump always chickens out).

If that were not enough, the world was also witness to the rift between Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, chief of staff of Israel’s IDF and Netanyahu (https://www.timesofisrael.com/in-unprecedented-confrontation-idf-chief-said-resisting-military-action-tied-to-iran-ordered-by-pm/?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email). Netanyahu wanted to strike Iran just before the elections.  Zamil opposed this move.

Trump continues to threaten that he will resume attacking Iran after the mid-term elections are over. This means that even if Trump’s party is defeated at the polls, he still has the power to wage a final battle (maybe with nuclear weapons) in the 90 days before the new Congress takes over.  This could be one of the most perilous interim periods that the world will have seen.

What the reaction of Russia, China and Iran will be is not known.

Putin winked

Meanwhile, even while the US and Israel became weaker. Russia moved from strength to strength.  After an initial setback in the clash with Ukraine, Russia became stronger month after month (https://asiaconverge.com/2022/05/the-roubles-getting-stronger/).  Currently, the situation is so bad that, according to Zelensky’s former press secretary, Iuliia Mendel, (https://spectator.com/article/zelenskys-strategy-is-national-suicide/) Ukraine is in a death spiral.  “The number of people dying is roughly four times the number of births. The nation is perishing, and yet the war grinds on.”

Worse, Ukraine may not get the funds from the EU for its reconstruction.  The EU had promised him €50 billion (https://getgrant.ua/en/wiki/terms/ukraine-facility/) as a multi year grant and loan package.  Zelensky wants double that amount.  Given EU’s finances, many believe that even this amount won’t be forthcoming.  That could actually wreck the lives of Ukrainians, who already want the war to end.

Yet despite this, UK, France, and Germany are itching to continue their support for Ukraine.  They want to weaken Russia.  This could have something to the investments that these countries have already made in Ukraine (https://bhaskarr.substack.com/p/will-germany-rebound), or the hope of pick up juicy pieces of business from Russia, or payment for the weaponry they send to Ukraine. Either way, it is a sad commentary on countries that once claimed that they stood for peace.

That is not surprising, because these are the key countries that got rich through plunder.  Old habits do die hard.  Remember how Boris Johnson as the prime minister of the UK had actually exhorted Zelensky to tear up a possible deal with Russia to prevent the war from happening in 2022 (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/apr/22/boris-johnson-ukraine-2022-peace-talks-russia).

Russia is being hurt though. Its oil production and supplies have been hit lately because of both intelligence and weaponry that other Western countries have provided Ukraine. But the damage is meagre.  So, Russia has gone on the offensive. It has begun bombing Ukraine’s cities and even Odessa.  If this port city goes, Ukraine will be landlocked. Moreover, with energy lines being destroyed, Ukraine is going to face a harsh winter.

Meanwhile Iran has surprised many.  None of the US sanctions has diminished its oil production.

Its land routes are still humming with activity (https://bhaskarr.substack.com/p/blockading-iran-a-chimera).  The only losers are the US and Israel.  Europe is still trying to keep up a brave face. Europe is incapable of facing the truth.  In fact, it chose to sanction Jacques Baud, a Swiss intelligence officer, because he spoke the truth.  Switzerland refused to accept the sanctions verdict.  Baud is still fighting the EU legally to clear his name (https://verfassungsblog.de/the-eu-sanctions-against-jacques-baud-and-the-crisis-of-freedom-of-expression/).

No wonder Putin is not worried.  One could imagine him winking at the games some children play.

Europe sinks

For once, whatever be the private reasons, Trump wants to end this war.  This has infuriated the warmongers in Europe.  But without Trump on their side, they will not continue to support Zelensky.  Their finances are in terrible shape.

And France with its student protests just won’t be able to mobilise reservists if it wants to go ahead and sate its war fetish. Ditto with the UK.  Germany too is badly scarred (https://asiaconverge.com/2026/09/will-germany-rebound/).

Meanwhile in Brazil, the unexpected victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has upset both the CIA and the Zionist lobby.  Both had worked in tandem to ensure the victory of Flávio Bolsonaro (https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/oct/26/lula-wins-brazil-election). Now the only face-saving for the defeated Bolsonaro is to get a visa from the US for both himself and his family (https://apnews.com/article/brazil-flavio-bolsonaro-passport-lula-1f64bda20de066eeea04349e0319820a and https://www.icij.org/news/2026/10/the-us-is-letting-a-convicted-bolsonaro-spy-chief-stay-in-florida-brazil-wants-answers/).

Brazil is crucially important for the BRICS grouping. It is likely to emerge as the biggest producer of agricultural goods. That could sink the plans of many European countries. It could render the CIA weaker and more impotent than before.  It was wrong about Iran; it was wrong about Lula as well.

Whether Trump wins or not in the mid term elections, the weakening of the CIA is good news for the world.  For too long both the Zionist lobby and the CIA have worked in tandem to topple governments, to kill people and to destroy global trade.  Maybe, the world will get a fresh lease of life.

Europe could still survive.  But that will require a candid appraisal of their ways to promote wars, to turn a blind eye to the killings in the Middle East, and to the arrogance with which it has fattened on plunder.  Today, surprisingly, and in contrast to what mainstream media in the West tries to portray, the biggest champions for peace are China, Russia and Iran.

Maybe, the world could become a better place to live in.  But that will depend on whether Trump will be able to curb his hubris. And it also depends on whether Iran, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan can get all Middle East countries to throw out the US and sanction Israel.  They had their first meeting a few days ago (https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/top-officials-mecca-pact-countries-meet-iranian-officials-tehran-monday-two-2026-10-26/)The latter has been the cause for much suffering and wars in this region for a long time.  The list is long – Syria, Iraq, Libya, are just some of the biggest victims.  That region needs a new system of governance without the US and Israel.

Will that happen?  Fingers crossed.
